Bob H. is one of the newer shuttle drivers with three months under his belt already. Before coming to Markquart, Bob was a local machinist for 30-plus years. He is quite the gentleman, and has six grandkids he loves spending time with. Jim is also fresh to the team of shuttle drivers by two months. He loves to fish and tries his hand at golf occasionally. He may be a former postal worker and is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet, so you’ll be lucky to get a ride with him. We listen to our customers! Over the past year or so we have had occasional comments from customers about our service advisors being a little too busy at times. We would like to announce that we have added an experienced service advisor, Joyce Kubesh, and have constructed an additional office in the lanes to accommodate the additional personnel. Joyce has been in the car business for a little over 40 years now! Having worked with vehicles since 1971, she says it’s not so much about the cars but “the people and the interaction with customers” that she enjoys the most. When Joyce isn’t busy helping people with their vehicles at Markquart, she spends time gardening and hanging out at her cabin with her husband, Archie, who she’s been married to for 41 years. The additional office is conveniently located in our service lanes. This office houses our service advisor Justin Babel. Aside from helping customers who come in for service, Justin also oversees all the trade-in vehicles that the Used Department receives, making sure they are ready for the lot. The construction of the new office and the addition of Joyce to the team are just two of the many ways we are improving the Markquart Toyota service experience. What does it mean to detail a vehicle anyway? At Markquart Toyota, when we detail your vehicle, we try to bring the car back to its original condition when you purchased your vehicle. We have four packages to choose from, ranging in price and the amount of detail done. Depending on the package you choose, we clean your car from top to bottom and inside to out. Our most basic package is the Deluxe, which includes washing your vehicle, vacuuming it and cleaning the windows on the inside and outside. A step up from that is the Premium Package. The Premium is just like the Deluxe but also includes a shampoo of the carpet, bug removal, clean and shine of the interior, and a tire dressing. One of our most popular packages is the Ultimate. When you’re in need of an oil change, bring your vehicle to Markquart Toyota’s Auto Service and Repair Department, located near Eau Claire, WI. Not only will you receive a professional oil change and tire rotation, but you’ll also get a multipoint inspection done on your vehicle. We begin the multipoint inspection by visually checking the engine compartment, air and cabin air filters, and wiper blades. We also check your floor mats and external vehicle lights for safety reasons. We then lift the car up to drain the oil and inspect the underside of the vehicle for leaks and damage. The suspension and steering components play a major role in keeping you safe so they, along with the brake system, fuel lines and exhaust system, are examined. When the oil is finished draining, we install a new oil filter and lower the car halfway to begin the tire rotation. With the tires off, we inspect the brake linings, calipers and rotors, and reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors. One of the great things about Markquart is that people who are hired here tend to stay awhile. Because of this, you may see a lot of familiar faces when you buy a car with us or bring your car in for service. One of those familiar faces is Jeff Webber, the Service Manager at Markquart Toyota. This month Jeff is celebrating his 30-year anniversary with Markquart. Jeff, an Eau Claire, WI native, first got his start with cars by working at his dad’s gas station from ages 14 to 19. His next job was at an automotive warehouse, delivering auto parts around the state. In 1984, Jeff found his way to Markquart. Jeff began as a shuttle driver and later became one of our first Lanes Crew members—the person who greets you at your vehicle when you pull in for service. Jeff served in several other service and auto body positions before becoming Service Manager for Markquart Toyota in 1995. Jeff has done a great job and has earned the confidence of customers and his co-workers alike. When asked what his favorite part of the job was, Jeff said it was the customers. It must be true because Jeff has gone to great lengths over the years to help customers who found themselves in difficult situations. At Markquart Toyota, we’ll wash your car every time you come in for service as our way of saying thank you for choosing us for your service needs. There are a few things to keep in mind so that you can take full advantage of this free service. Our car wash is a touch-wash featuring soft-cloth brushes that do an outstanding job of cleaning your vehicle without scratching the paint. If, for any reason, you would prefer us not to wash your vehicle, let the attendant know when you arrive for service. It is our desire to wash everyone’s vehicle that would like to have it washed, but there are a few practical limitations to our offer. First, if a vehicle is covered in a thick coat of mud or if it has excessive rust on the body, it cannot go through our wash, as it is not good for the car wash. Also, if there is an exterior antenna that can’t be removed, or something is loose on the vehicle like trim or a mirror, we are not able to wash these vehicles because they could be damaged during the washing process. One final situation where we are not able to wash the vehicle is when weather conditions do not permit us to wash. Typically, it is when the temperature is 15 degrees or lower during the wintertime. In this case, we are happy to give you a rain check and you can stop by another time to have your vehicle washed. Satisfying our customers is our primary goal here at Markquart Toyota.
