The 2016 Scion iA Sports Sedan is set to be Scion’s sportiest sedan ever. It features a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine and gets an EPA-estimated 42 MPG highway. This sleek, super stylish car combines the best of both the hatchback and sedan body styles with a standard 60/40 split rear seat to expand cargo capacity.
The iA is made to be fun to drive. Transmissions include the standard 6-speed manual transmission and the available 6-speed automatic transmission. Both are light weight and low friction. Everything from the suspension and framework were built to make this one agile, yet comfortable ride.

2015 Toyota Camry VS 2015 Honda Accord
Both the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord have long been praised for their reliability, and it may be difficult to figure out which midsize sedan is truly the better buy. This competition is going to come down to safety, maintenance, and style.
One glance at the 2015 Toyota Camry and you’ll notice its stylish, refreshed look. It has a bold grille, sleek exterior, and luxurious interior. The Accord’s design has remained untouched since it was all-new back in 2013.

This year, there are 26 athletes from the Midwest making the trip to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, CA. Toyota is the official automobile partner of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games. The company will provide 400 vehicles for LA2015, which is the organizing committee of this great event. At Markquart Toyota, we are also proud to sponsor these talented athletes!
Leading up to the games, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will take place. The torch will start in Greece and make its way to the Opening Ceremony, which will take place Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.
There will be 7,000 athletes from over 177 countries competing in this year’s events. The games will last for 9 days and include sports from aquatics to equestrian and badminton to powerlifting. For each event, Special Olympics, “believes in recognition of each athlete’s efforts and presents medals for first through third places, and ribbons signifying fourth through eighth places (source).”
The closing ceremony will take place Sunday, August 2, 2015 and celebrate not only the athletes, but all of Special Olympics’ supporters as well. Again, we are very proud to be a sponsor of this awesome event and wish all of the athletes the best of luck!

Summer Road Trip Tips from Markquart Toyota
Summer is a great time for road trips because the kids are out of school, the weather is nice, and you don’t have to worry about snowy, icy roads. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t steps you can take to make sure you have a safe, fun road trip, which is why we put together this list of summer road trip tips!
- Get your vehicle inspected. Stop in to Markquart near Eau Claire to get your oil changed. During this time a multi-point vehicle inspection will be performed, which will make sure your vehicle is in good condition for a road trip.
- Check your tires. These will be taking most of the wear and tear this summer. Make sure they have air, the treads aren’t worn down too much, and that you have a spare.

Tom Jakowicz, Parts Manager, Celebrates 20 Years
Originally from Boyd, Tom has known the Eau Claire area his entire life. He got started in the auto industry at 13 when he started working for his step father’s parts shop. Eventually, he found his way to Markquart and the rest is history.
Tom says he enjoys working at Markquart so much because of the company’s values and integrity, how the employees are treated well, and how good the people are to work with. Words of wisdom he has gained from his experience includes keeping an open mind, accepting change, and understanding how everybody’s roles work together in an organization.
When Tom isn’t busy helping people find the right vehicle parts, he’s probably spending time outdoors with his wife Roxann, and daughter Rayna. The family enjoys fishing, gardening, and hanging out with their two dogs and cat. Tom also really enjoys hunting, trapping, and occasionally playing the guitar. An interesting fact is that Tom holds the record for the biggest white-tail buck ever shot with a bow in Chippewa County and the 26th largest in the state of Wisconsin.
