It’s that time of year again in Eau Claire, WI. The leaves are changing, the weather is getting colder, and deer populations are higher and more active. At any moment a deer may dart into your path, causing you to hit it. So what do you do? Here are five tips on what to do after hitting a deer.

  1. Before doing anything else, make sure you move your vehicle to a safe place. You may also want to report the incident to the Eau Claire Police Department, especially if the deer is blocking traffic.
  2. Call your insurance provider and report the claim.
  3. If your vehicle isn’t drivable, call Markquart Auto Body and we’ll assist with finding a towing company.
  4. Bring your vehicle in for a free drive up estimate, no appointment necessary. The process is quick and easy, and shouldn’t take longer than 30-45 minutes.
