The 2016 Scion iA Sports Sedan is set to be Scion’s sportiest sedan ever. It features a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine and gets an EPA-estimated 42 MPG highway. This sleek, super stylish car combines the best of both the hatchback and sedan body styles with a standard 60/40 split rear seat to expand cargo capacity. The iA is made to be fun to drive. Transmissions include the standard 6-speed manual transmission and the available 6-speed automatic transmission. Both are light weight and low friction. Everything from the suspension and framework were built to make this one agile, yet comfortable ride. As far as safety, the 2016 Scion iA is made out of high-strength steel, and has front-side and curtain airbags to help protect its passengers. Both the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord have long been praised for their reliability, and it may be difficult to figure out which midsize sedan is truly the better buy. This year, there are 26 athletes from the Midwest making the trip to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, CA. Toyota is the official automobile partner of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games. The company will provide 400 vehicles for LA2015, which is the organizing committee of this great event. At Markquart Toyota, we are also proud to sponsor these talented athletes! Leading up to the games, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will take place. The torch will start in Greece and make its way to the Opening Ceremony, which will take place Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. There will be 7,000 athletes from over 177 countries competing in this year’s events. The games will last for 9 days and include sports from aquatics to equestrian and badminton to powerlifting.  For each event, Special Olympics, “believes in recognition of each athlete’s efforts and presents medals for first through third places, and ribbons signifying fourth through eighth places ( source).” The closing ceremony will take place Sunday, August 2, 2015 and celebrate not only the athletes, but all of Special Olympics’ supporters as well. Summer is a great time for road trips because the kids are out of school, the weather is nice, and you don’t have to worry about snowy, icy roads. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t steps you can take to make sure you have a safe, fun road trip, which is why we put together this list of summer road trip tips! Get your vehicle inspected. Randy has been part of the Eau Claire community since 2000 when he moved here from the Twin Cities to be the General Manager for TGI Friday’s. In 2008 he went back to school at UWEC. Randy has been involved in the auto industry ever since graduating with an MA in History. His favorite part about working at Markquart is taking care of his customers and finding them the perfect vehicle. Outside of the dealership, Randy spends his time with his wife, Jessica, and their children, Conor and Hannah.  Of course, the Jones’ chocolate lab, Jasper, is never far from the family. If you've ever experienced a morning like the woman in the video, you’ve probably also thought about having a key finder. Well look no more because Toyota has granted your wish with the Toyota Key Finder and free Key Finder app for iOS devices. The key finder uses Bluetooth to connect with the app on your Apple iPad, iPod, or iPhone and emits a beep if you push the “Activate Key Finder” button. You can even change the settings so that the finder goes off if it’s a certain range away from your device (up to 60 feet). You can also connect up to eight key finders to be used on your backpack, purse, or anything that the finders can be clipped to. The Toyota Key Finder is really easy to set up, and you can learn how in this video. Once you’ve set up the key finder, you can name it whatever you want from the app. So, if you have more than one, you can name them Keys, Backpack, Purse, etc. Who knew something so small could offer so much peace of mind?

Take a photo of your Toyota from Markquart Toyota and email it to photocontest@markquart.com then post it to our Facebook page. Include information like your full name, email address, phone number, year & model, and where the photo was taken in the email. Each person can submit one photo per week for a maximum of 15 submissions. So, while you’re taking your Markquart Toyota or Scion camping, fishing, to festivals, hiking, or whatever you love to do in the summer, we want to see it! The contest deadline is 11:59 PM CST on September 7, 2015. Photo entries will be judged by John Markquart along with other Markquart Toyota managers. These judges will select three finalists and from there, a grand prize winner will be selected based on public voting, which will take place from September 14, 2015 to September 25, 2015.
