Toyota tested the effect worn tires have on stopping distance* when traveling 60 miles per hour on a wet road. Three sets of tires were used with three different tread depths:

  • 10/32”
  • 4/32”
  • 2/32”

For each test, the same professional driver was used. He accelerated to 60 mph and then tried to stop. It took him approximately 8 additional car lengths to stop with 4/32” tread depth, and nearly 10 additional car lengths to stop with 2/32” of tread depth!

Don’t let your tread depth be the difference between a close call and an accident! Get your tires inspected at Markquart Toyota near Eau Claire. From there your service adviser can recommend whether your tires are healthy, should be rotated, or even replaced! We also currently have a buy three tires get the fourth for only a dollar1 special going on through April 30, 2016. So, hurry in!
