Markquart Toyota Donates Car to North High School
Markquart is always eager to give back to the communities we belong to, this past week we donated a 2007 Chevy Malibu to the shop class at Eau Claire North High School. This class provides hands-on experience that teaches students essential car maintenance. Some skills they learn include how to change flat tires, perform and oil changes, changing lights, and much more.
Currently, this class is taught by Robert Besse, he teaches 3 sections, and enrolls over 60 students who are eager to learn more about cars, and potentially spark a career in a rapidly growing industry. Many students who enroll in this class don’t have a car of their own to practice on, the vehicle we donated will allow every student to have a chance to practice their skills.

Product Specialist, Jay Bouley started with Markquart 30 years ago after spending 18 years in the radio industry, as both on-air DJ and eventually Program Director. Admittedly Jay did not know what Markquart was until he was dared to apply. As a part of the application process, he took a personality test and unexpectedly scored one of the highest scores, which earned an interview. He was welcomed to the team on October 23, 1989.
When he started at the dealership, Jay was under the ownership of Lee Markquart and has since enjoyed the smooth transition into the leadership of Lee’s son, John, and grandson, Charlee. Jay has come to learn a great deal about business ethics and integrity, which can be challenging to find in the automotive industry.
Jay’s favorite Markquart memory is from 1993. He had won first place in a regional Toyota product knowledge contest, which earned him and his wife a trip to Maui for the national competition. Jay placed second nationally and won $5000 cash. His product knowledge and appreciation for Toyota’s has only increased over the years. Currently, he and his wife drive a RAV4 and Avalon.
Outside of work, Jay has a passion for music and identifies as a Musicologist; he specializes in music between the ’50s and the ’80s and owns upwards of 3000 CDs, along with over 25,000 vinyl records. In addition to music, his family loves traveling. Each year they spend a week in either Florida or Arizona during the winter months. Although Jay doesn’t plan on retiring anytime soon, he would love to extend his winter vacations.

Markquart Marketing Presentation at Chi-Hi
Members of the Markquart Toyota Marketing Department were graciously invited to present at the Chippewa Falls High School in Ms. LeMay’s Marketing class.
The presentation covered some basic marketing tools and strategies relevant to the content they were covering in class. Presenters included Graphic Designer, Jenna Welke, and Executive Manager, Amy Dachel.

Originally from Nevada, Brianna moved to the Chippewa Valley 2 years ago with her husband. Having gone to school to be a mechanic, Brianna is excited to bring her well-rounded knowledge to the team at Markquart Toyota. She was attracted to the Internal Service Manager position because of the amount of strategy and versatility the job requires.
In Brianna’s free time, you will find her doing anything outdoors. Some of her favorite pastimes are hunting, fishing, and camping. Aside from being outdoors, you can catch Brianna fixing-up her dream car, a 1979 Ford pickup.
