Markquart Toyota is excited to be a Presenting Sponsor for VolumeOne’s Virtual Chalkfest 2020. This year the event will be taking place entirely online, allowing artists to use as much space and time as necessary. This year, registration is just $5, with all proceeds going to Together Chippewa Valley. Supplies are not included, but you are welcome to use your own or order them through Volume One and The Local Store. After 5 years as a Sales Manager at Markquart Toyota, Josh Zuleger is excited to take on the role of General Manager. He has worked in automotive for the last 15 years and learned the ins and outs of the industry, which makes him an excellent fit for General Manager. Josh was initially attracted to Markquart because of the positive reputation in the community, today his favorite part about his job is interacting with the Markquart customers and team. He loves working directly with our team members to help ensure that they enjoy their time here and can be successful. Outside of work, Josh enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He and his wife Ali have two boys, Jackson and Jameson, and a chocolate lab named Lambeau. An interesting fact about Josh is that he has had 3 holes-in-ones, but he says, “it’s better to be lucky than good.” Josh is always looking for improvements and how to make us the best we can be. Markquart is proud to be a part of this amazing community, and we are honored to give back to many of the organizations that help keep the Chippewa Valley strong.  For the second year in a row, Markquart let the community decide where we should donate $50,000, and the results were overwhelming.  Over 12,000 community members cast their votes, and over 350 different organizations were voted for. We are excited to announce the winners of Markquart Gives Back 2019! The 2019 recipients are (in no specific order): Pony Tails Refuge and Rehab - Pony Tails provides refuge and rehab for neglected and abused horses. They provide the compassion and training needed to prepare the horses for adoption. Eau Claire County Humane Association - The ECCHA provides medical attention and shelter to homeless animals in the Eau Claire area. They provide humane and loving care to dogs, cats, and other animals until they are ready to be adopted. L.E. Phillips Senior Center - The L.E. Phillips Senior Center provides a welcoming gathering place for individuals ages 50+ who reside in Eau Claire County. The center helps promote independence with access to programming to develop skills to enhance emotional, physical, and social well-being. Chippewa Valley Free Clinic - The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic provides health care and advocacy for individuals with no reasonable healthcare alternative in the Chippewa Valley. Helping Hands for Children in the Chippewa Valley - Helping Hands for Children in the Chippewa Valley provides furniture, toiletries, clothing, and various other items to families and children within the area. Community members can donate good-condition items, and Helping Hands for Children will match them to those in need. Dunn County Humane Society -The Dunn County Humane Society is committed to the prevention of animal suffering in the area. They find permanent loving homes for the animals in their care in a no-kill facility. Feed My People Food Bank - Feed my People has been providing nutritious food to families and individuals throughout west-central Wisconsin for over 30 years. FMP Partners with food pantries, meal sites, and other programs to help those who struggle with food insecurity. Bob’s House for Dogs - Bob’s House provides a loving home for senior and special-needs dogs in the Eau Claire area in a kennel-free environment. Their dogs receive constant love and attention, high-quality food, and the medical care they need. Eau Claire Veterans Services - Eau Claire Veterans Services is a resource that provides for veterans and their families. Resources they provide include education on the benefits and programs veterans are entitled to. Chippewa Humane Association - The Chippewa Humane Association works to relieve the suffering of homeless companion animals by providing care and shelter. They care for the animals and work to find them forever homes, while also educating the community on the proper care of animals. A huge thank you to everyone who voted for their favorite local organization during Markquart Gives Back. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and response from the Chippewa Valley. Voting Ends December 13, 2019 Markquart dealerships are excited to announce Markquart Gives Back for the 2019 holiday season! We have been blessed by the support of a great community, and we understand the importance of giving back to the many local organizations that help keep the Chippewa Valley strong. This year the community will decide where we donate $50,000. The 10 local organizations that receive the most votes will each be receiving $5,000. Our ballot includes several local organizations along with a write-in option, which makes any local nonprofit in Chippewa, Dunn, or Eau Claire County eligible win! Markquart is always eager to give back to the communities we belong to, this past week we donated a 2007 Chevy Malibu to the shop class at Eau Claire North High School. This class provides hands-on experience that teaches students essential car maintenance. Some skills they learn include how to change flat tires, perform and oil changes, changing lights, and much more. Currently, this class is taught by Robert Besse, he teaches 3 sections, and enrolls over 60 students who are eager to learn more about cars, and potentially spark a career in a rapidly growing industry. Many students who enroll in this class don’t have a car of their own to practice on, the vehicle we donated will allow every student to have a chance to practice their skills. Members of the Markquart Toyota Marketing Department were graciously invited to present at the Chippewa Falls High School in Ms. LeMay’s Marketing class. The presentation covered some basic marketing tools and strategies relevant to the content they were covering in class. Presenters included Graphic Designer, Jenna Welke, and Executive Manager, Amy Dachel. Thank you to Ms. LeMay and her wonderful group of marketing students for welcoming us into the classroom!

Markquart Toyota is excited to be a presenting sponsor for Chalkfest 2019! This event has been a prevalent summer activity in the Eau Claire community for the past nine years. Chalkfest allows local and regional artists to come for a day of fun and family to design their own unique sidewalk masterpiece. Hosted by Volume One and UWEC, Chalkfest embraces what it means to be a part of the Eau Claire community. Anyone is welcome to register as an artist and use complete freedom in designing a sidewalk square. This year Chalkfest is taking place on Saturday, July 27, starting at 11 am. In addition to being able to browse artwork, visitors can take part in food, music, and kid-friendly activities. Chalkfest is an experience you don’t want to miss! Travis and Amy Quella started working towards their Bob’s House for Dogs dream back in 2006 after the loss of their dog, Bob. In September 2008, the couple had built a, personally funded, 1,400-square-foot steel building with roughed-in heating and plumbing, and a septic system. Loans and community support allowed them to finish the center, and start rescuing dogs in 2009. Now Bob’s House provides foster care, healthcare, and comfort to senior and special-needs dogs in a kennel-free and home-like environment. The $10,000 donation from Markquart Gives Back 2018 will be used toward their medical fund. Bob’s House mainly serves a senior population of dogs who have significant veterinary costs. Most dogs come in at the minimum with untreated dental disease, and arthritis. The initial medical evaluations are extensive and necessary to make their residents healthy and ready for their new homes. Thank you to everyone who voted during Markquart Gives Back 2018. The C hippewa Humane Association seeks to relieve the suffering of homeless companion animals. They take pride in taking care of the animals while they are awaiting their new homes. Holly Morrison, Shelter Manager, says that staff at the association believe and have seen an amazing difference that the community can make whether it is adopting, fostering, or donating. The $10,000 donation from Markquart Gives Back 2018 will be used to provide a much-needed update to their area for dogs to run and exercise. Specifically, the donation will be used to replace the windows in this space as right not they cannot withstand the Wisconsin winter elements. The second project that the money will be put toward is an expansion of their isolation room to allow more intake of animals. Thank you to everyone who voted during Markquart Gives Back 2018. The Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes helps prepare girls in the Chippewa Valley for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure. The parent organization was started in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, GA. Since its founding, Girl Scouts has grown to 2 million members and more than 50 million alumnae. Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes operates service centers, camps, and business office throughout 2 states and 58 counties. The $10,000 donation from Markquart Gives Back 2018 will be used toward all of their annual programming as well as financial assistance to families of members. The entire donation will stay in the Chippewa Valley to help grow our troops here. Thank you to everyone who voted during Markquart Gives Back 2018. Beaver Creek Reserve was founded in 1947 with the hopes of offering area youth environmental education opportunities. Today they have 400 acres of diverse habitats to explore filled with a variety of plants and animals. They hold events, camps and more to help educate the youth of the Chippewa Valley and immerse them in nature. The $10,000 donation from Markquart Gives Back 2018 will be used to cover environmental program expenses and feed the live animals in the nature center. Brianne Markin, Marketing and Development Director, told us that it would allow Beaver Creek Reserve to offer more free programs and/or make some of their current programs free.
