Find Answers to Your Tire Questions

As the seasons change, you should make sure your vehicle is up to the test. Learn how to check your tires, and find answers to your other tire questions from Markquart Toyota. Q: How can I tell if I need new tires? A: You can easily check your tires using The Penny test. To test: Place your penny with Lincolns head facing down into the grooves of your tire. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, your tires are worn, and you should get them replaced. If part of Lincoln's head is not visible inside the tread, your tires are probably fine, and you should not need them replaced this season. Repeat step 1 in multiple spots along each one of your tires to verify that the tread is consistent throughout. Q: How often do tires need to be replaced? A: The NHSTA recommends that tires be replaced every 6 years or sooner. However, your tires' wear and tear depend on how many miles you drive and road conditions. We recommended checking your tires regularly, and we will also check during each service visit. Q: How do I know which tires my vehicle needs? A: To check what type of tires your vehicle needs, you can either look at the tires currently on your vehicle or look at the driver's side door jamb, and the tire specifications are listed there. Q: How often do I need a tire rotation? A: We recommend a tire rotation every 6 months or 5,000-6,000 miles driven. We perform a tire rotation during each routine oil change. If you need new tires, visit Markquart Toyota. During October, we offer buy 3 and get the 4 th for $1 tires to help you get geared up for winter weather. SCHEDULE SERVICE Offer valid only on OEM, OEA, and WIN on-program replacement tires (excluding the GeoTour line) purchased through the Toyota Complete Maintenance Care program or website. Meet Product Specialist, Josh Bonnell

Josh Bonnell is originally from Antigo, Wisconsin, but is no stranger to the Eau Claire area. He received his undergraduate degree from UW-Eau Claire, and after relocating a few times, he is excited to settle back into the Chippewa Valley. Josh was drawn to Markquart because of his passion for cars and people. In his previous position, Josh worked with college students to find financial aid and scholarship opportunities to fit their lifestyle. He is excited to transition that skill into his new role as a product specialist with Markquart Toyota. Outside of work, Josh loves spending time with his wife, Megan, and son, Leo. They can be caught frequenting the local farmer's markets, bike riding, and hiking around Lowes Creek with their dog Lyra. What some people don't know about Josh is that he has caught many sharks while fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and his dream car is a 70's Austin Mini Cooper. Josh loves the excitement associated with buying a new or used car, and looks forward to sharing in that experience with you! The next time you are in the area, stop in, and chat with him.
