Toyota Tires

Find Answers to Your Tire Questions

As the seasons change, you should make sure your vehicle is up to the test. Learn how to check your tires, and find answers to your other tire questions from Markquart Toyota. Q: How can I tell if I need new tires? A: You can easily check your tires using The Penny test. To test: Place your penny with Lincolns head facing down into the grooves of your tire. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, your tires are worn, and you should get them replaced. If part of Lincoln's head is not visible inside the tread, your tires are probably fine, and you should not need them replaced this season. Repeat step 1 in multiple spots along each one of your tires to verify that the tread is consistent throughout. Q: How often do tires need to be replaced? A: The NHSTA recommends that tires be replaced every 6 years or sooner. However, your tires' wear and tear depend on how many miles you drive and road conditions. We recommended checking your tires regularly, and we will also check during each service visit. Q: How do I know which tires my vehicle needs? A: To check what type of tires your vehicle needs, you can either look at the tires currently on your vehicle or look at the driver's side door jamb, and the tire specifications are listed there. Q: How often do I need a tire rotation? A: We recommend a tire rotation every 6 months or 5,000-6,000 miles driven. We perform a tire rotation during each routine oil change.
